My mom, sisters and I had a great race weekend! We all finished in one piece! I finished in 3:00.08, only 8 seconds slower than my goal time! I will take it! Karla finished in 3:40 and Tiffani in 3:45. GREAT JOB!!!
Now after taking just over a month off, I'm right back where I started BEFORE training! I am the tiniest bit frustrated that the weight came back so quickly. I have joined another run group and will start hitting the treadmill next week. I have got to get myself together, FAT is NOT my new normal!!! (HAHAHA) Well, anyway, I am going to start strength training as well as doing a diet overhaul in the next few months.
I need to find my inner motivation to keep at it. Since I am no longer active duty, I don't "run for a living." I have a real job that demands 100% of my work-related time to be at a desk, doing actual work. (I miss the days when I told my Marines, "I'm going for a run.") I also have 2 horses that I adore and love to train/ride which take a lot of my time as well. So, I have 3 competing priorities:
1. Work: I really NEED a paycheck
2. Horses: My passion and happy place
3. Running: Healthy Zen time
How do I fit all 3 things into my daily routine along with the "mundane musts" like, laundry, chores, and sleep? Well, I am not sure, but join me on my adventure as I find ways to "Live my Best Life!"
This is a place to post workouts and training tips. Our goal is personal fitness and the benefits it brings. For me, that means running marathons. What does it mean to you?
